Came 30th in the Irish Winter Festival. Was about 9th, but gifted Julian Thew a monster stack. As Im still on hols i will explain it Tuesday night when i am back. Starting to get very good live, showed huge patience. On reflection the hand with Thew is a mistake only with the gut feeling i had and objectively would only count if at all as very unlucky, probably nothing i could do, maybe a slight mistake lol.
I am now plaguing all the UK satellites I can and going after my first huge win, it can be done, just need to keep learning to fine tune on the job and really get good.

Fuck it I have time now. 2100 euros in the bag, 100,000 up top. I had 300k in chips at 2500/5000 500 ante 9handed. I'm in CO, Thew is in bb, I open raise to 11k with QQ, folds to Thew who flats with 250k. Flop 389 two diamonds, he checks, I bet 15k, he rr to 42k, I repopped all in.
What you guys think?

Hard to nit be results orientated, but I dont love it.
He probably never does this with A9.. So what are we beating? 10's and JJ's - which he 3bts pre most of the time.
He probably has Axdd a chunk but he's still a favourite.
Don't love it mate, tbh. Think we only get called by better.

Yeh I spazzed big time. What I thought was and got done by is, with the stacks as they were a call there to the rr is a no go and I felt a fold was also wrong, so immediately thought the all in was correct. The stacks were so awkward.
It had to be a sigh fold a really really sigh fold. But it really was because a call was out of the question and a fold was weak. Gutted thinking about it now. There is a chance for overcards and diamonds here or just 10j. 98 was also on. This was a big lesson on the if two of the three options seemed absurd then the third isn't automatically right, which I jumped to immediately
That is the very first time I have ever made a decision like that, I had a gut feeling I was beat suppressed too much thought ruling out the call or fold. Absolutely great lesson here and half really love that it happened.

Dud turn bet out from him? Don't see him open checking, so hate calling.

Had a great learning experience throughout the Irish Winter Festival, I have noticed just how far I have come and that when i am about to go ahead and commit most of my chips in non straightforward decisions i really need to step back and have a little think. I had a rush of blood to the head in a marginal situation and it ultimately cost me.
Already told you about my poorly played hand of the tournament, the rest were pretty well played, with the best of the lot being 3 betting 1010 to an aggressive early raiser. He pops a 4 bet in making really awkward for me with the stack sizes. I flat. Flop comes J high with no other draws and he puts half my stack out as a bet. This way way off the money, I think i had about 40 bbs at the start of the hand, and my gut told me to re pop all in only after a 90 seconds thought process. He folded and that is the best i have felt about a hand in a while.
The rest of my chip accumulation was AA beating KK twice, another was getting KK and juicing a fish to bluff me three streets, before repopping all in on the river to him for like an extra 1k more with the pot at about 80k and he folds lulz.
The biggest compliment i got was when i was forced to move from a very comfortable table for me as the big blind, the guy to my right who was clearly a very good player, said he was happy to see me go, which was nice, or I may have just stunk, who knows.
All I do know is, I am going to try my best to comfortably fund my own live £300-£1100 action as i feel the bink is coming and I shouldn't give up as if it does come i could get an amazing little shimmy up the limits and I may not look back. All hopeful thinking but fuck it, I think I play live well, so why not want to play more?

Good luck with this, there are so many poker sites these days offering Satellites into decent live tournaments, you should defiantly find value, most sites always have overlays too so added value.
Beat of luck Ant

Cheers guys.
Going to make this thread much more alluring when i get my online pokers up and running again. Go to the 'Tips for Tikay' thread in the Betting section to see the huge bets i have on two Championship games, after the dust has settled with that, I will update this thread, probably daily.
With what will be my outlay for the day in $, my profits/losses on that day and weekly/monthly cumulative losses/profits. With notes on how each day went in terms of how well i played and what needs improving.
Will be pretty small entries as well to aid in easier reading so hopefully you guys will enjoy it. Need to make sure though i keep it up during the rough times!
BTW to make you guys feel better about yourselves, I am on a $25k downswing on Pokerstars. I have made up for it and a little bit on top on every other site combined but it is a very nasty occurrence.
