Have you tried booting in safe mode and doing a system restore to a point before the virus had been executed?

I Agree with Kinbo's cure, it worked for me

I had to do it twice recently for the Key logger virus and the security virus

I use AVG 2011 the free version now

You can rollback to a system restore point in Vista.  Only takes a few minutes to reboot into safe mode and then do a system restore.

I'm doing the sensible thing like you and getting someone else to do it!

What didn't work?

The sensible thing would be to have adequate virus protection and not run executable files from dodgy sites.

If you can't get onto the internet, boot in safe mode and change your proxy setting to automatic.
