It's possible that the "rigged" bit was letting them have one goal and then they scored more "fair" goals after that.

In ten years or so of closely following the Asian market I have only ever seen two cases of what I would consider to be clear attempted match fixing in English football and neither of these were in the Premier League and on both involved individuals that had specific personal issues that effectively facilitated it.  The logistics and cost of trying to fix a premiership game would make it almost impossible in my view.

Although a goalkeeper stupid enough to do that would probably also be stupid enough to get himself sent off  at the end of the first half whilst deliberately conceding a penalty leaving himself unable to influence the game further and watching from the sidelines when the coup came unstuck due to a mistake by another keeper!!!!!
