Undecided after last night's opener.

'The Apron' is suddenly everything. Contestants desperate for 'an apron'. No aprons in previous shows, what's this all about?

'Decision' music straight from X Factor of three years ago. Plus the standard 'means the world to me' nonsense from contestants.

Still got Frog, Toad and India though, so not all bad.

It is literally a copy of Masterchef Australia.

Works, IMO. It will get a lot better after the shitty auditions when they really get going, especially if they bring in some of the challenges they used in MA. I'm hoping they do the one where the chef who "wins" a challenge that week goes on to have a "cook-off" against a top chef.

I hope they bring over the chef who chops like he's Jackie Chan then. That was awesome.

Still not sure about these prelims. I expect it will get better when we get to the proper comp.

Yeah, I hate the pre-lims..let's hope it does get better because that was really crap. Also they're "We're not just here to put people through so we have the right numbers" comment when those 4 people were invited back was clearly a joke. you have 2 auditioning rounds and end up putting 10 people from the first round through...that sure was coincidental.

And if one more person gets praise for having moist chicken when they've poached it I will flip and start killing people. You have to be really shit to not get moist chicken when you poach it FFS!..

Edit; or even worse..when people roll it in parma ham and then get credit for having moist chicken....arghhhhhhhhhhhhh..IT'S WHAT THE HAM WAS FOR!

Oh and Greg had better start saying "Cooking doesn't get tougher than this" in the next few rounds or I will stop watching it out of protest.

I found it funny when they said there were only 2 aprons left but you could see a big pile of them sat next to them Smiley

Thought it seemed a bit harsh that duck lady went out in the final round.

Originally I thought it seems a bit odd to put 20 people through and cull to 12 but then it quickly became apparant that 20 people is too much to focus on.

Me too, she was quite nice Smiley

John and Gregg seem to be acting a lot more this series, some of the facial expressions they are pulling are laughable.

Enjoyed tonights.

Seems like we're gonna get a bit more variation with this format.

I'm liking this, but then again I'd seen Masterchef Australia so am kinda used to it.

Think the right 2 went today. Be interesting to see if Sara can cook anything other than Italian later on, she seems very one-dimensional.

Want James to win but think Kennedy will from what's been shown so far.

I agree, it's broked! OK there has always been a bit of false drama involved but it has gone a tad too far now.

Liked the lasagne dish though.
