Looking to take my 2 kids (10 and 6) to this

Yes been. They are the right age. Its not a full day imo, more a half days worth in terms of keeping them occupied

Agree with the previous poster, it's a half day thing.

There is next door the Abbey Pumping station musuem which I think is free to enter.

Also I think the Grand Central Railway stops next to the Abbey Pumping station, so you MIGHT be able to catch the steam train from Rothley / Quorn / Loughborough to the Space Centre.

Best bit of the day out for my kids was watching the plastic turd they use to demonstrate how plumbing works.
