stato_1 Huh?

villain is a 25/16 reg over ~350 hands. Probably would peel this quite wide normally but not so sure as im BB vs his UTG open. Not really sure how aggressive he is postflop so suppose im looking for a default line vs an assumed average reg

Maybe consider not 3-betting pre.

As played, bet-fold flop, bet-fold turn, check-fold river.

What's the bottom of your 3bet range vs utg raise 6max when your in the blinds James/andy? Vs unknown assumed reg as described.

id probably bet/fold flop. check/fold turn- expecting him to be very happy checking back anything with showdown value and lots of draws. if turns checked through then then river is interesting :-S

agreed about not liking 3b pre flop vs UTG open without a specific read. I mean its probably not losing money by 3betting but vs. someone who can probably hand read reasonably well there is likely to be more value calling.

Agree with James, in general I'm not a fan of 3betting UTG opens this deep.

Now that you're here I like keys' line but it's pretty turn/river dependant

Pretty much this but obviously if you turn or river the straight or backdoor flush you are looking to get it in.  A King on the turn or river would be an interesting problem.

Gotta say 3 bet is pretty standard here maybe 3.5x raise is a bit high makes the pot 25% bigger than needed which can leave you precariously pot committed it bet called on flop and leading the turn no matter what he does. AK OS has to be the biggest looser in these stakes flatting here pre makes it much easier to fold on later streets depending on the villian's actions.

call pre vs nit u cant get this in profitably preflop.  as played c/c flop with intention to give up on most turns he's not gonna try to get you to fold a showdown bound hand with his 99/tt/kq or w/e and his flatting range here is pretty damn strong tbh.

going for two streets value on this board vs this player is burning money.  if you post his f3b/4b/utg pfr you can pretty much work out his exact preflop calling range.  but given what i know about this type of player its pretty much always 99-QQ AQ sometimes KQ/AK

this hands a lot more interesting vs a 25/21 or something who actually knows how to exploit people

I would as a rule 3 bet here but then id three bet a load of other hands in this position as well so villain wont always be able to put me on ak/aa/kk etc.  As a default id say 3 betting is superior to calling - even tight players will call with inferior holdings - and most regs in this day and age have a 4 bet bluffing range.
On the flop i might check call rather than bet - the reason being you have outs if youre behind but if you bet and get raised you prob have to fold - also he may take a stab with his 87s, 33 etc.  A turned diamond may also let you continue with the hand.  You are prob giving up on this flop most times you check it so its good for your checking having 3 bet pre range.

If i check call the flop and he keeps firing on a turn that doesnt help me then i probably muck (obviously with the disclaimer its all player dependent etc).
