Looking for advice on where the best place to stay in London would be. Four of us going down on Saturday 7th May to go to Wembley on the Sunday and will be travelling back Monday. Getting the train to King's cross so basically looking for a decent location to stay. The hotel doesn't have to be anything fancy as it'll pretty much just be a place to sleep when where all drunk so a cheap hotel where there are a few decent pubs and some decent Indians/Chinese is basically what where looking for and where it'll be easy to get to Wembley on the Sunday and to King's Cross. Cheers.

Travelodge is always a reasonable bet - you have to get lucky to get the really cheap rates but the 'normal' sale prices aren't too bad either.

I'd stay closer to Kings Cross than to Wembley.

Not exactly out of this world for London, to be fair. Even Travelodge usually ends up being close to £100 pn unless you've booked early.

For all hotels I look at either close to the venue or close to the train station.
Wembley Travelodge at the moment you can get the Saturday night and Sunday night for just over £100 total
The Kings Cross and ones closer to it will be about £50 more total but there are a few to choose from because central london has such good public transport
EDIT: Travelodge Kings Cross is £100 for Saturday night and just over £32.50 for Sunday night

Just go to laterooms, com and see what there is for the price mate. There are sometimes good deals to be had, other times not.

On a proper budget there is this place: never stayed there, but had some student mates who loved it: http://www.laterooms.com/en/hotel-reservations/14316_generator-london-london.aspx (0.3 miles from kings x) I got a last minute deal at Novotel which was amazing through laterooms.com but they don't seem to have the same deal att. might do a bit closer to the time. Most of the decent price hotels at Kings X are Sold out for the sat... +1 to Woodseys comment. had already typed this out and couldnt be bothered deleting...

I've stayed in a couple of decnt B+B's in KK for about £70-80, trying to think of the names, will get back to you if I do. There are some decent ones in that area, if its just you and your mates I'd just book one of them as you won't be too arsed if they are only mediocre in quality anyway.
