Local snooker club, villain decent player bit drunk been raising virtually every hand to £10 not getting any action. Pot been straddled upto £4 when villain in SB raises to £10 i wake up with  i reraise to £20. Villain playing £200 me £150  flop three diamonds  mmm not bad me thinks. He bets £20 i raise £20 turn   he instantly push's as though he had made his decision before the turn card.  All in was £138 i've £60 of it.  Got to call right?Huh?

I'm assuming this is a 1/2 game. Anyway pre, I'd make it 35. Hard to say post flop, cos he may have jammed/folded on you by this point. You are in the BB I assume, so you have position on Villain too.

sorry to tell you you have kind of bludgeoned every street.

either flat or raise bigger preflop.

This is a terrible flop to raise, sure you'll have the best hand a decent chunk of the time but ur equity vs his made hands and semi-bluffs is TERRIBLE, as he is likely to have  Adx, or a pair and diamond,  and we only really have ONE turn card that is good for us, should be folding the flop imo, or just peeling one POSSIBLY.

Turn is an easy fold as played, again terrible equity vs everything he bets for value/bluffs with.

What were you trying to achieve with your raise preflop?  Raising so small is basically keeping every hand in and inflating the pot.  Nobody is folding getting 3-1 on their money to anyone but the nittiest players so you are not narrowing their range and now you have a bigger pot to negotiate.  Tens is no hand to do this with because you are going to be faced with overcards on the flop most of the time.  With Tens and Jacks I try and reraise more than usual as I am looking to take down the pot now and if I don't I want to narrow their range.

No point in raising that flop but you got his money I suppose.

I just raised £10 preflop because i did'nt want to lose him. Like i say he'd been raising £10 avery hand. Its not that sort of game where it gets raised upto £35 its a 1/1 game  biggest raise i've seen is £25 and its aces or kings. Would you be happy taking the pot with maybe £10 in ? blinds and a couple of straddles.

Yes, much better than losing a pot with 2 min raises that you've put in when he flips a flush/Jx or 2pair over. Lucky for you this time he didnt have any of that and you took it down.

Not that sort of game, this should be the games your popping people to 35 pre to narrow the field, see if he's raising light or strong, build an aggressive image...I suspect this game lacks proper 3 & 4 betting.

This is the STONE cold bottom of his range and he still has 14 outs.

We might have found a good spot here, but his range absolutely crushes you.

raising bigger preflop and get the pot similar size as 4handed with tiny bets, but now its heads up, you have a premium hand and the pot is bigger. once yo do this you can start raising bigger with your entire range and make way more money Smiley
