I am coming down Friday to rail only (escapes the Royal Farce anyway!)

Can I have some entrance details please to get into the casino....ie ID required?  Dress code etc?

Plus is there some cheap digs in the area in case I partake in a 'couple' of beverages and stop over?

Many thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

Cheers,

Alan

Hi Alan,

If you are a Member of ANY Grosvenor Casino, you are automatically a Member of all of them. If not, bring ID, or you will not get in.

Dress Code? "Normal" casual is fine. Only Luton & "The Vic" do the "over the top" thing.

Cheap digs? No idea, but mostly people stay locally at either the Holiday Inn Express, or The Village Hotel, which are adjacent each other. They are, as the crow flies, only 200 yards  from the Casino - literally, bang opposite the Casino but on the other side of the M6 - but it's a long & roundabout journey over the bridge, on foot. But mostly people car share to & from the Hotel/Casino, so you could just jump in with any of us.

Avoid, like the plague, "Quality Hotel", it's proper poo.

The plan is for the Sky Poker guys to play Flight 1a, which commences at Noon.

See you on Friday.

Village everytime - just round the corner and it has a pool/sauna and a Starbucks and great restaurant for breakfast. Great value.

Agreed, but my hotel bookings are done for me & they told me that The Village Hotel is fully booked for Friday & Saturday. Great shame, it's one of my favourite Hotels at the lower end of the price range. If he can get into The Village Hotel, then he should - it's the tops.

All The Firm players and Guest Pro - Stu Rutter are playing flight 1a starting Friday at 12pm.

Shares still available at www.thefirmpoker.com

If you buy any shares make yourself known to me so I can say hello - I will be there playing myself.

you can buy in juice free on blue square or g casino, under vip tab but you have to be cruiserweight or higher.  I only found out by accident no explanation anywhere, standard.

Ah, I guess they must have changed it as I have bought in before with no reg fee.  This time it was £70.  I am guessing I am playing the noon start, though it wasn't entirely clear from the software when I looked last night (start date was noon on the 27th).

Note to self: Check your emails before posting.

The £70 thing is a recent change and I got a choice of start times

Juice free is still available, u just have to rake a bit to get to the right VIP level to qualify for that privalege (u can still buy in paying juice online tho). You have to rake under $300 to become 'cruiserweight' and get the juice free, which is only a day's play for internet wizards like me....

Here is the release, delete if spammy:

As someone who has previously taken advantage of our concession to buy in to GUKPT events via our poker client ‘juice free’ I wanted to inform you of some changes that we have now made on the site.

With our close association with the GUKPT we thought it would be great to offer our players the opportunity to register via us for free so encourage registrations to the GUKPT tournaments and to give players on Blue Square poker a nice reward for their loyal custom.

This is only viable for us however if those that take advantage of the concession are players that are also playing on our tables and so generating an amount of rake that make the concession cost effective (we effectively take the £70 hit).

For that reason we have now amended the concession so that only those players who have a loyalty KO level of cruiserweight or higher will be able to enjoy the juice free option.

For those players that are cruiserweight or higher you will continue to be able to enjoy the juice free buy in.

If you haven’t got a loyalty level of cruiserweight or above, this should be relatively easy for regular poker players to achieve and amounts to raking just under $300 in a calendar month. Upon doing this you will be elevated to cruiserweight the beginning of the next calendar month and will stay there until a time that you do not rake this amount in a calendar month.

If you have raked $300 in a month and need to buy in before the system has elevated you on the first of the next month then let me know upon raking the required amount and I’ll ensure you can take advantage of the juice free offer.

If you prefer to buy in online but will not likely generate the necessary amount to get to Cruiserweight then you can still buy in for £1000 + £70 for any of the GUKPT main events directly via our poker client in the tournaments section (easiest to sort by buy in and they will show at the top)

Sorry that this hasn’t been relayed to you sooner and hasn’t previously been displayed on the site, should you have any queries whatsoever regarding KO loyalty levels or anything else in relation to this you are welcome to direct them to me personally.

Kind regards
