..."big" is relative, of course, & it's not exactly FT or 'Stars, but on Sky Poker the Monthly Biggie is £220, with an £8,000 Guarantee (££, not $$) & that's about as big as they have right now. It runs once per month on a Thursday, & for the rest of the month it runs as "Sky Roller", at £110.

The Sky Roller has a new, super-slow, structure, but tonight's £8,000 Guaranteed Sky Sports Deepstack is the "old" structure, as it is televised live on 865, & from 10pm until Midnight, on Sky Sports, so it needs to finish within 4 hours.

If £220 is a bit steep, there is a £48 1 in 5 affair at 5.15pm.

The Tourney will be mostly shown on TV, & there will be a few phone-ins to the Live Show from those playing it, including myself, when I'll tell viewers about my breathtaking passes, triple range demergers, how I hate poker, & life because I busted out short of the money, & asking "what do we think of our line here?"

Here's the current line-up. If it falls shy of 40 runners, there'll be overlay. Which we don't like.

Don't see too many blondes here, sadly.

In.

Plenty of names I don't recognise there.

In terms of the structure, I think you can safely lose the 15/30 and 40/80 levels from the first hour, then you can stick in a 500/1000 and/or 1250/2500 later on at the point where things get crunchy.

There was one recent tourney which I thought was far too slow early on - can't remember if it was the Sky Roller or the Vegas final.

Both, probably, Andrew. It was certainly argued that the "new" Sky Roller structure (also used for VLV this month) was a bit TOO slow in parts.

We are tinkering with ALL the Tourney structures to make them more playable, give a better point of inflection, & a better average stack when the Final is reached.

They were almost all too "sharp", & most were changed a few weeks ago. Now - some might say - they are arguably a bit slow in parts.

We decided to let the "new" structures settle for 4 weeks, & then re-visit them, tinker & fettle accordingly, based on playability & feedback.

The suggestion you make will be noted, as will all the other feedback, & quite probably included in the Tourney Structure Review we will be having the week after next. Your input is appreciated, & if you have any further suggestions, please let me know.

That would never do. See "Area 51".

Top man, Jeff, thanks, & will chat with you tomorrow about Sky Poker GUKPT Quallies. We got 3 qualifiers for Walsall in 4 days flat from a cold start, so were quite pleased with that. More of the same can be expected. And spammed......

How did you get on tonight in the "super soft" Tourney? Are you "Tydalwave"?

I'll return the favour next week, & have a spin-up on your Site. Please say it's not i-poker though?

I remember when Sky had the Primo every month for £30,000 guaranteed

It was £50 to enter and the satellite was about a fiver

The good old days have gone
