Hello all, I havent been on here in a long time.... I stopped playing and opted out of all sites for 12 months.
On numerous occasions I would deposit 50-150$ spin it in the cash games to 500-600$ and then blow it all in the biggest game i could sit in. The last straw was spinning it up to 2200$ sitting with it all and losing a 7.5K pot. ( this is what made me opt out ).

My Bankroll management was awful at best.

I have since started playing again the last week or so... but only playing the small 3$ 45man or 18man comps on stars.

I have probably played approx 70 games in the last few days which isnt a lot compared to most of you in here however i seem to keep gettin my chips in ahead, and getting screwed be it the turn or the river.

Im currently just breaking even on the 70 games which given the run ive had is a miracle, however the amount of bubbles is ridiculous where the big stack calls ur all in miles behind yet somehow ends up comin out on top.

I know in the long run the bad play by a lot of these on the small stakes should be good news... But i just seem to be taking a few steps forward and then run horrible and back to where i started.

Any advice...

Don't worry about the bad beats, play through those. Concentrate on the things you can control - examine the hands you play, talk them through with people who's game you respect. post on the pha if you're unsure about any spots. Make sure you're playing well, making good decisions and importantly, using disciplined bankroll management. If you're happy with those things, then the results will come. Be patient, it takes a long time. The long run, is very long.

Go to european sites. I have uninstalled and reinstalled stars more times than I care to remember. Less runners = less bad beats. You can still put in a decent amount of volume when you find the right tournaments. People say it is just variance etc.... but I just hate stars, I lost 17 80/20s back to back. Surely nobody runs that bad. Soon as I moved over to the euros things improved. A lot of the fields are softer as well or failing that get a big stack earlier, then you will be the big stack getting lucky.

I am playing tight, playing made hands....
Not playing too passive but not to aggressive niether... at this low level I cant really make any moves against the players cause they are that bad they call no matter what.

I just struggle to understand how the bad play seems to get rewarded time and time again.

Im running that bad My  got busted earlier by  now thats bad luck he hit runner runner for his flush.... I know these things happen just seems to be very often at the minute.

since my post earlier I have dropped down to the 6 seaters 3$ which I seem to be running a bit better now...

Clarkey9 on stars for those interested!

100% you would be a winning player in any tourney at dtd, prob not the low mid stakes game but almost certainly in the 5/10 game too

imo which is a small sample size of about 8 sessions in the vip room there are a couple of seats (always 2 sometimes 3)  that you will make money from playing tight. as in a lot of games they will pay off the tight player as they are often the non believing poorer players.  your troubles come if you wanna mix it up with some of the bigger rolls or better players. KJ and RY are out standing players who often are the guys who break hearts in that game. JB is very much in the tag mould and is now reg traveling down from newcastle to play. i would not wanna out the fish for fear of getting into another toe to toe Wink
