so, been hearing stories around my town (small town) of this juicy cash game, full of yocals. £1k min sit down, in a pub run by the owner once a week (tuesday) i dont drink in there, its supposed to be soft,
how do i approach getting into this game in a sneaky manner without looking like ive played for years. Plan so far is to go in about 10pm 12am start by all acounts, have a few beers and just see whats going on.
any advice appreciated

I think it will be pretty suspicious if just pitch up for a couple of beers and randomly have a few bag in your back pocket Maybe go along one week and have a couple, at closing time ask if they are going to have a lock in and take it from there. Maybe try and get invited back the next week, play the long game and don't be too desperate to get in that night.

Watch Rounders, do that scene where Matt Damon and Edward Norton pretend not to know each other.
Is this in Dronny? I would have thought everyone would have kinda known each other anyway round there anyway.

Actually, if I know thicko pub poker players like I think I do, I reckon lots would relish the chance to get a professional in the game, just so they can rip the piss if they bust you

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Yea dont just roll up with a bag!
Say your a contractor on a big build for 6 months and fancy some poker do you know anywhere i can get a game.
If they say they got a cash game then say you have only got £300 on you, do they mind u short stacking. If they say no then ask for an invite next week when you have more funds.

Yeh but don't completely hustle them cos unless you're a pro hustler you'll let something slip and things might turn nasty.

Despite the sarcasm this is the best advice to get in the game. Also - just be careful about the hustle too - who "told" you about the game - why are they not in it?
