Days 84 and 85 - The smoking ban has begun in Scotlands places of work, which includes public houses.

I decided a wee while ago that when this happened, I would quit. I'm on the patches now and it has been over 48 hours since my last cigarette.

When I went out to get my nicotene patches, I still had a half packet of cigarettes in my pocket. On my way home, I passed a group of teenagers, aged around 16/17, a couple of whom were smoking.

I took my last fag packet out of my pocket and announced "Who wants these, I've quit" A lanky chap took them from my hand and gave me a peculiar look. 7 years ago, when I started this filthy habit, that lanky chap giving people peculiar looks was me. When the willpower fails, hopefully that circular poetic harmony will help keep me off the tabs.  Cheesy

Days 84 and 85 Results :
+$1,519.5 (+$12,686.5 total)
ROI : 9.1% (after 2,188 tournaments)

A much needed jump in the ol' Republic of Ireland, lovely-jubbily.

I know this is a poker forum, and a poker thread. I've just been talking about smoking (or rather not smoking) today so my apologies. It's probably because that is all that's on my mind.

(the tank is gasping.)

Perhaps I can replace my addiction to cigarettes with an addiction to commas instead? I would have no problem with that.  Cool

Hidden in all that nonsense about smoking is actually a pretty decent set of results for the weekend....

No worries, for my next home game smoking will be banned - unless what you choose to smoke is about half a foot long and made in Cuba Smiley

Big thanks to Snoopy.

Amongst his hard work on the new home page, he has put a version of this thread in the Articles>Diaries section.

It contains just the diary posts for anyone wanting to read an abridged version of this thread.

4,000 STTs in 4 months

I'm now writing a few articles for blondepoker. You can find these in the tankbank aswell as in the tips and advice section.

If anyone fancies stopping by and having a look, it would be greatly appreciated.  Smiley

New content will be added every week!

no probs reckon with a 9.5% ROI, you have a lot of 1sts because of your style so would presume it it is somewhere around 20%.

Good luck - love your thread.  Truly is an amazing challenge

Have something similar around the $20-$30 level going on.  Played about 150 odd so far of the normal STT's.  Bit of a grind but see it as a challenge.  Hovering around the 22% ROI and 45% ITM.  Need to cut down the no. of 3rd's i get.

Would love to show you the results....

Well done Tank, keep it up!

I've just found this thread and I've been riveted reading it for the past couple of hours.

By the way, I help people quit smoking for a living (and I'm darn good at it!) so if you want some help, just ask. I'll gladly waive my normal fee for a couple of gems of poker wisdom  .

Days 86 and 87 - A familiar pattern emerged these last two days.

Attempted a sesh before midnight, got my booty handed to me, dropping around a grand.

Grinded some back after midnight, told myself to stick within the "play zone"

The next day didn't play till after midnight. As I was up during the day doing some writing, I was too tired to complete 3 whole sessions. Instead of 120, I only managed 87.

Days 86 and 87 Results : -$241.5 (+$12,445 total)
ROI : 8.6% (after 2,275 tournamentals)

So there's 33 days left, only 28 days of which I'm intending to play. I now need to complete 62 tournaments on each of those days, this is gonna be tough!

Good Luck! The only thing I can advise is that if you feel you can do more than 62 on one day then do it so that on another day you can rest a bit more. You can do it though, I know it Wink xx
