Sound problems

I don't have speakers on my PC and use headphones after unplusgging them and popping them back in can't get any sound from google chrome or IE despite all other sounds working. Tried trouble shooting and it's shit. Any ideas puter experts?

BOTTOM LEFT OF SCREEN left click on the windows icon. this brings up a small page. left click control panel. left click hardware and sound. in the sound bit left click  change systems. this opens up another page  that says playback recording sounds communication. then i realized i know nothing about computers at all and dont wanna mess mine up or yours so just click all the X's in the top right hand corner of every page and call someone out.
