Hi all, quick one: what's the easiest, quickest way to get an ITIN in Vegas and do I need to do this prior to entering / cashing in any tournaments?
Also, is it free to get this sorted whilst in Vegas?
Cheers

At The Venentian they will sort it for you as and when you cash deep enough to need one but not before.

Can you define 'deep enough' without suggesting I don't need to worry about it :-)

If you cash for a profit of $5K+ you will need them to do the paperwork for you.

I hope the need arises.

Thanks Ralph. I wasn't sure if in true Vegas style any kind of help or favour would come at a price! I also see on the Rio site that players without the ITIN would be subject to up to 30% tax withholding. I imagine the Venetian to be much more pleasant and accommodating that Rio.

The WSOP have also sorted out the ITIN paperwork for you in the past - it might have changed, but I think that might mean that it's only the normal Rio tournaments that they won't do so.

They did mine at the Rio before they took me to pick up my cash and it wasn't any hassle at all. One of the staff just sat me down and filled all  the forms in for me in about 15 minutes.

In hindsight it might have been good if they had witheld 30%, at least then I couldn't have sprayed it all around Vegas over the following week Cheesy

At Caersars they filled it all in before you got the cash.

They did take a $150 Withholding allowance. I asked what the $150 was for, he told me for
his time filling out the form. It took all of 1 Minute.

If do get a cash don't get all dippy like I did and leave them a tip.
The amount of Juice they take is Ridiculous.

Worst case scenario, you can claim money back. I claimed the tax I paid on a small bink 3 years later lol.

wow this is weird - in that box for me it says 230, but we all chopped up the money at a table and both me and my m8 who also had a form took what we were entitled to and so did everyone else....
