what is the point of this deep run debate?
Could always avoid the thread ldo?
true. i keep checking it though cos everyone defending hellmuth and you standing your grand and fighting them all off is pretty com.
im on the fence on that one so dont have anything constructive to add.
No surprises there.
Nice backtracking paul. Keep digging that hole, hopefully we'll be able to bury you in it before long.

I've played Hellmuth several times, for a total of probably about 10 hours. I can confirm 2 things:
1, He is technically terrible, and a lot of the things he says and does make no logical sense.
2, He is not some amazing nice guy away from the table, we chatted a bit at the table but I'm certain if I were to pass him in the corridor tomorrow he wouldn't know me from Adam. At least he hasn't given any indication that he would any of the last 20 times we've passed in the corridor. I don't get the feeling this would happen with Jake or Julian or any other player I've met with a genuine 'nice guy' reputation.
Re: flushy's post about how he plays really amazing against fish: The fish shit are shit-scared of him. Because of the reputation he has built himself (which I agree is incredibly smart, if possibly entirely accidental) the fish play extremely straightforward against Hellmuth, they almost never attempt to bluff and when they do they get so excited/scared that they're ridiculously easy to read. Playing against fish is actually much easier for Hellmuth than it is for other players, IMHO of course.
Ironically, it looks like he might actually be genuinely good at mixed games though.

If he wins it won't be a deep run
Would be grand news for poker if he got the bracelet imo.
2nd would be funnier.
