Mine is set to friends only for everything, that way nobody can see anything on your profile unless you are friends.

Ok some people have a lock on their front page so you cannot see any of their info, what do you change in the security setting to make that happen?

they have you on limited profile i presume.

click on your friends and there is a drop down somewhere where you can assign them and set up different profiles for what they ca
n see of yours.

I'm thinking more of people that are not friends that stumble across my page.......

There ate differing degrees of privacy...if completely private they see absolutely nothing.....

I think, if you have it set to just  friends, if someone was searching for you, or clicked onto ur profile, this is what they'd see!  -UNLESS they were indeed friends with you.

Nah I clicked friends for everything and there is still some info there on me and also a list of my friends on the left hand side on the screen.

Thanks to the fine folks at facebook, you can't, from what I can tell, actually delete your account.

I suppose if you were able to do it they'd be unable to sell off yet more of your data.

Facebook is valued so highly because of the amount of users it has I believe. If you consider there are probably hundreds of millions all signed up, it's a dream site for people wishing to market their products. Advertisers can chose selectively who to target too.

On top of that, for every transaction made through clicking on a link that originates from FB I believe they get a small slice of the pie.

They are also making money through online applications such as Farmville. A shitty little game millions of people spend hours playing.
