I hate to bring them up again but cyclists, not all cyclists just the inconsiderate ones who use those flashing lights. Should be banned IMO

Really? I was think of getting one of those as they are really visible. Why do you think its a problem?

When you're following one with flashing lights it is very distracting especially if you are being a considerate driver and waiting for an adequate place to overtake.

Just get bigger lights if you want to be more visible.

Oh and this goes for flashing front lights too.

I was just sat behind 2 cyclists at a set of traffic lights. They were 2 abreast and the flashing lights were driving me mad. Simples, ban them.

Hmm, not sure about that. All normal battery lights are crap, think I'm 100% gonna get a flashing light if it means you're deffo gonna see me. Had too many close calls in the last 6 months for my liking.

I thought flashing lights were against the law, or at least the highway code.

Flashing lights are much safer because however bright you have your lights - they're always going to be more visible if they're that bright and flashing

They stopped being illegal a long time ago - I saw a reference from 2008 saying they weren't illegal anymore - but according to one source the flashing was never the issue. The law was that you used to have light bulbs; the flashing lights were illegal because they were LED's and the law got changed when it was shown that LED's were at least as bright as bulbs.

We don't use flashing bulbs on cars or motorbikes. We seem to manage.
