Intelligent tabloid journalists and intelligent members of fringe political parties who champion a certain type of populist policy. The sort of policy that they know has been tried at various times throughout history and is invariably followed by cataclysmic failure, a policy that while well intentioned, is known to have unintended and unavoidable negative consequences.
It pisses me off because they know themselves it's a really bad idea, and if they were in charge would not put it into practice. They know they're not going to be in charge... ever. They are only interested in having as many people as possible listen to the sound of their voice while they're taking these cheap shots. They know they sound like they're speaking sense and enjoy their moment to bask in the approval of the masses. They do so safe in the knowledge that the arguments against them, while sound and complete, are too nuanced and technical to form an adequate oppostion in the heat of the moment.
The idiot tabloid journalists and idiot members of fringe political parties who do the same thing - I don't mind them so much.
