Statements of the bleeding obvious

Twice in one day yesterday.

1) Murderer escapes from a prison in England. BBC Correspondent notes that 'this will certainly raise security issues'. Ahhh, one of those prisons for keeping people in then.

2) Severe flooding affected several areas yesterday, and in fact the rain was so bad that a fire station was flooded. Fire Service spokesman on tv 'The main problem as far as the flooding is concerned has been the sheer volume of water.' Not a dry flood then?

Big nationally known companies whose Accounts Payable Departments are set up to frustrate the efforts of small suppliers to get paid.

Supplied a well known Haulage company over the Jubilee Weekend. They wouldn't normally even give us a chance to pitch for business but they were in a mess with a lack of capacity to keep their major customers delivieries on time. I've just had the invoice returned for the second time.
Once because the address I was given was the wrong deprartment and now, a week later, because it doesn't have the Purchase Order Number that I was assured locally wasn't needed)

Thought I would treat my family to a Disney holiday over Xmas/New Year. Don't think I've ever done anything so frustrating.
Any tips great fully received.

Sorted, ended up going into a Virgin shop to let them deal with it. Well it is their job after all.
Just need a deep stack sized win to pay for it lol.

I thought that - has this been rebranded the 'sick brag' thread.

going back to the stating the obvious thing, I managed to lose my bank card at some point last night.  phoned to report it this morning.

"hello - i've lost my debit card (again)"

"ok - i'll cancel that for you now"

"thank you"

"would you like me to order you a new one?"

"erm, yeah that would be kind of handy, thanks"

Calorific values as stated on food packaging.

First of all the writing is ridiculously small, I mean so small I can't even read it with my glasses on, I have to get a magnifying glass.

Then, when I finally manage to see it it says something like.

120 kcal per 1/3 pack.

Or

143 kcal per serving.

Or, worst of all

118 kcal per 67g Cooked weight.

How the fuck am I supposed to know what it weighs when it's cooked until I've cooked it and weighed it?
