Until recently I used to drive with scant regard for the speed limits, happily doing around 100mph on the motorway and 60 in a 30.

I got caught speeding (only a bit - didn't brake quick enough - god-damn cameras!) and went on a speed awareness course. I had no intention of modifying my behaviour prior to going on the course but something was said that struck a chord - what if you have an accident and kill a child, they run out in front of you, not your fault, unavoidable. But you were speeding. If you were obeying the speed limit they might have survived. Explain to their mother why you were speeding, give them your reasons.

Since then, early October, I've stuck to the speed limits.

They asked me if I take extra care when the kids are in the car. When I said yes, they said, "Well someone will have kids in even when you haven't".

It is your fault though if you were speeding.

For me i break the speed limit depending on what roads im on, i think its redic to be 70 on the motorway should be higher.

But in areas where kids are about ill happliy drive 5mph so not to kill one, we have all been there as a young kid chasing a football into a road etc. Would ruin my life and the kids familys life if i ever was to kill someone espically a kid so i will do anything to avoid it!

I think they should have variable speed limits on motorways. 70 is too low when you have a clear road and decent conditions, it's probably fine for an average journey though.

Driving comments aimed very much at those tootling along during rush hour.

If I drive outside these times, fair game. Also at no point did I bring age into it, or suggest driving past schools at 50mph.......

When you make a complaint to customer services at FTP about a particularly nasty bigoted and foul-mouthed player's abuse in the chat-box and they write back to you explaining how to block their chat.

Computers or companies talking to be informally as if they think they know me.

e.g. when chrome crashes it goes Ooops something has gone wrong Sad

Just give an error message saying what's gone wrong.

And just now a dispatch from Amazon:

Hello,
We thought you'd like to know that we've dispatched your item(s).

Just write "Your item has been dispatched" ffs

People who let the kettle boil like crazy for 30 seconds until it switches off by itself, instead of flipping it off at the right time.

People who let the kettle boil like crazy for 30 seconds until it switches off by itself, then let is stand for like, another 45 seconds going cold before brewing the tea.
