Sounds good in principle, but those example pics are pretty piss poor if that's the best results they can get.

Saw one earlier that was meant to show the 'infinite' focus. It showed two.
Going to be good for point and press snaps though.

I can make my camera focus where I want it to.

This is suggesting you can change the focal point after the pic is taken and adjust the level of background blurr..........

Meh....
So you have never taken a pic you wish you could change the focus of slightly? I have literally hundreds, if it worked well it could be good, here are just 2 immediate examples that spring to mind.

Of course I have Woods, I'm just being facetious. Although I am worried that soon, there will be nothing left for the photographer do do.

Oh there will. Although this technology allows multiple focuses, it doesn't mean it can automatically control the level of blur, depth of focus, or the artistic stuff such as framing a shot, etc.
Will definitely help the complete amateurs take decent snaps though.

I would be highly surprised if it didn't allow adjustment of blurr/depth of field as its directly related to its original purpose.

It doesn't allow you to specify the depth of field or level of blur. Well, not without telling it what you want it to do first.

Still pretty sure the actual real life version would allow you to do it though...........

I bet it uses a huge amount of memory.
Read an article where the fella was saying it doesn't use much more than a standard digital photo file does now. But I find that hard to believe, unless of course it loses something else along the way. It's the same as a photo taken on a digital SLR - if the file is stored as a JPEG it can still be a great photo, but if it's stored as RAW (with no manipulation, compression, etc., at all) the quality is noticeably better.
I'm sure this new technology will develop over time though, maybe into the standard for most cameras (see what I did there?).
