Of course I have Woods, I'm just being facetious. Although I am worried that soon, there will be nothing left for the photographer do do.

Oh there will. Although this technology allows multiple focuses, it doesn't mean it can automatically control the level of blur, depth of focus, or the artistic stuff such as framing a shot, etc.

Of course it won't, we'll always have Photoshop for that

Very true, although there's only so far you can go when polishing a turd.

When I think about all the post-click technology that's available today (We can change the brightness, the contrast, the colours, the saturation, the sharpness, the composition, and now even the focus...)  I wonder at what point does a photograph stop being a photograph and become an artists impression.

Having thought about it some more, I think that to some extent, all photographs are artists impressions. Much like paintings.

I agree Tom.  Photography seems to be part science, part art.  Get the two right, and you're laughing.

I bet it uses a huge amount of memory.

Read an article where the fella was saying it doesn't use much more than a standard digital photo file does now.  But I find that hard to believe, unless of course it loses something else along the way.  It's the same as a photo taken on a digital SLR - if the file is stored as a JPEG it can still be a great photo, but if it's stored as RAW (with no manipulation, compression, etc., at all) the quality is noticeably better.

I'm sure this new technology will develop over time though, maybe into the standard for most cameras (see what I did there?).

I think there's something very satisfying about taking good pictures using basic equipment though. Most of my favorites are taken with my phone camera.

I had about twenty tries at this one. I was trying to limit the depth of field so that only the lichen was in focus.

JPEG is lossy compression, of course it will be worse.

Someone might appreciate this, not too sure. Just taken with a bog standard camera. As far as i am aware its not an everyday occurence, but the other day whilst i was fishing there was this swan that was having a right old hiss at the other fishermen and women, it then came up to me and started having a beak around in my stuff.

Having been told since childhood that a swan can "break a man's arm with one flap of its wings" I wasn't overly sure how to proceed.. anyways I put my brave face on and decided if this swan wants to get fresh I would have myself a swan pie for tea, King Henry VIII style! I bravely put out my hand and gave it a lil pat on the head, much to my surprise it was fine with it, it even started wagging its tale like a dog, i decided to up it a level and gave its feathers a stroke and even fed it sweetcorn out of my hand.

I was very tempted to pick it up and take it home in the car with me and have myself a Regal pet, wasn't too sure how the queen would react though. Anyways i thought this was quite rare and decided to share.

Here is a pic of me with my new best friend Alan (named after Alan from the hangover, you rutard)
