Hey I was not criticising his play. I am new to the game so at this stage can't really tell what is good play and what is not. But from what I have seen on other forums, it has been suggested that he is over rated just because he is a celeb. I will keep your comments in mind next time I read something about him. And the spelling of Duthie or Duffie...You all know who I was refering to, so does it matter? . I really like Gary Jones as a commentator on the poker cahnnel. Sark79...

yea, I watched his show during the world series this year on pokerzone or the poker channel. I can't remember which. He seems like a good guy. I have viewed a couple of interviews online with him and what he has to say is entertaining. Sark79...

Tikay suggests that it was going to be great viewing and that Jesse had said it was an amazing heat and now everyone says that it is one of the best ever all of a sudden. I wonder if we would have seen those comments without the preamble?

It was a great comeback and it was entertaining to see the short stack triumph, but we only see the edited highlights. With where the blinds were at, I am sure the reason Jessse initially stated that it was a great game was because he saw ALL the hands and the effort that went into them. You could see that DC was drained at the end of this.

I don't want to get personal (particularly when we are all meeting up on Saturday) but have we lost the ability to form our own opinions?

I also don't hold with all the criticising of Michael Grecco. When he started out on the TV poker scene around 18 months or so ago, his play and his commentry was truely awful. This is a stigma that he now seems to have been tarnished with (probably part jealousy and part due to being famous for another career first).

More recently both his game and his commentry have vastly improved and I think he deserves recognition for this rather than cyber warriors sticking the boot in. I think he is informed and I certainly prefer his co-commmentating to that of 'Roy the Boy' or some of those mad yanks.

What makes you think we cant "form our own opinions" ?

Sheesh

Yea thanks, I will watch it. I have to stay up all night anyway to study for a  university geography exam tommorow. I have done nothing for it yet. I blame my 4 hour a day practice sessions on VC or pokerstars. Poker is much more fun than Uni.  Sark79...

If you can get away with it do your dissertation on poker! That's what I did!

Whenever you play it's just research. Wink

I would love to, but these university types are no fun. I did write an essay about Lance Armstrong once which was alot more interesting than learning about population figures in Africa over the last 100 years. Who wants to know about that?... I am doing the wrong course I think. I should have done a course in Poker.
