Yikes - 30 is a lot.

We had 4 based on Grecian historical periods/areas - Spartan, Athenian, Corinthian and Ionian but this could be extended but perhaps some would a bit of a mouthful.

Why do you need so many names?

the idea is that they have a recp, yr 1, 2 ,3 ,4 ,5, 6 in each house. So each house has 7 members, 210 pupils.

meh knock this idea on the head - 4 houses, school-wide. ours were named after saints which i guess is pretty standard at a left-footers school

defo good to have 4 houses school wide then you build up allegiance to your team throughout school life. I guess this doesnt really work with doing projects though as you cant repeat them each year.

I do like the capital cities idea tho

4 houses worked for our school.Kept to the same house throughout time at school. Four enough for competition, 30 would be too much imo. St Georges, St Albans, St Patrick and St FkedifIcanrember. Lapel badges, PE kit had the colours.

We had 6 but it was a pretty big school

Aylward, Bronte, Faraday, Newton, Rutherford, Scott

30 is way way too many to manage
