yes - if you want cheap labour and to pay for layer upon layer of bureaucracy.  Anyway - this isn't the thread to discuss the merits or otherwise of the EU.

Anyway - just to get back onto the point, I've tried to isolate the post the guy made that has caused so much outrage - is it this one?

"I know that my views sound anti gypsy , which they are , but it is based on my experience of them over the years and i would say i disliked probably 90% of the ones I've met. Saying that I'm sure there are ones who are pleasant and the total opposite to the ones in my area."

If so, although it's clumsily put, hasn't he actually based his judgements on gyspies he has actually met as opposed to blanket discrimination?  Or is there another more sinister post I have missed?

So it can happen anywhere, except the UK?

Do you think Gypsies, and the prejudice against them is confined to the UK?

Did you see what happened in France last year?

I wonder what the answer would have been if you'd asked "Do you think Genocide could happen in Germany in the next 50 years?" around the turn of the last century.

It depends what you are referring to as outrage.

Read the entire thread and quote the "outrage" posts if you want a specific answer.

Lots of posts have been removed from the thread as they were overtly racist.  Ones like that (that although I'd consider it misguided and misinformed, aren't overtly racist) have been left as part of the 'debate'.

Point taken raised by Red and someone else about whether the prospect of genocide was likely in Germany in 1900.

If someone is in the country illegally don't you think that country has the right to deport them?

You will need to educate me - the Roma people would be welcome as citizens of where?  Romania?  Or do they have "no fixed abode" as it were from a national perspective?

Actually - aren't Romania in the EU?  If so, on what basis are France kicking them out?
