There are fears that the site may contain a graveyard and be strewn with dead bodies buried underground, and plans are being made to excavate the site.
I take it it's just a local resident that fears this rather than the police?

Some rumours have suggested that the men had been working on building a mine under the site to search for gold and other special metals, some reports indicate that they had been forced to work for nothing doing chores and were regularly beaten, and that some may of died on the site

Even the tabloids (the sun and daily mail) don't report the story as above...can you quote a news site that maybe also talks about loads of bodies and digging for gold...(but I love the angle...digging for gold indeed)
