Just having a disagreement with a friend so lets get some opinions: Loose cash game - everyone has between £200 and £1k. Our stack is £300. Our image is agressive. We have history with one opponent in the hand where we check raised him with air and showed when he folded. Blinds are £1/£2 and we post straddle for £5. Mid position makes in £15 and there are 2 callers. We have   on the straddle. Question - is putting in the extra £10 generally positive or negative EV in this scenario? Assume straddle player is competent and won't do anything stupid with one pair. |

FWIW I was the person advocating always folding here, but this response is typical of the UK poker scene which has a healthy population of socially inept online geeks. The game is at the Empire in London if you want to know. Why don't you go along - I'm sure you'll "crush" it. |

You might have awesome post skills but I think its pretty obvious that this is a -EV spot. |

Are you straddling often in this game? Do you usually defend your straddle, and do you think straddling in the game is +EV for you? |
