Poker against Cancer, help required.

OK guys, here’s what I’m planning: I want to ride a bike from John O’Groats to Land’s End next August, to raise money for 3 Cancer charities. The catch, I need your help to do it, here’s my plan.
1. I want to ride 60-80 miles per day
2. I want somebody, connected to the poker community, to put me up overnight, following each leg of the trip.
3. I’m looking for whoever puts me up to organise a charity event for the evening I’m there, not necessarily poker related, just something that will raise funds.
4. I am planning to get into Land’s End on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday weekend 2012, but I want the route and exact dates in place for the beginning of the year.
At the moment I’m just looking for offers, so I can gauge whether it’s an idea that can materialise. Come on guys, if you live on, or know someone who lives on the projected route and have been affected by Cancer, get involved. Feel free to discuss things on here, but with any firm offers of accommodation, I would like a PM, with your idea of a fundraising event. I may not use every offer (I’m looking to ride from house to house on the journey, so need there to be a projected amount of distance between each stop).
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Kev.

Hi Kev, how much research have you undertaken in regards to your route? Not sure if you have checked this website out, its information overload.

Scroll down to each link for some great advice. Good luck.

Give me a shout if you're passing Loch Ness. Beer and a bed. And maybe a thrilling Pub Quiz.

Why not approach a hotel chain like holiday inn and ask for help in return for some logo wearing?
Possibly even laterooms or hotels.com or similar.
They're always looking for marketing opportunities so if you catch the right person on the right day you might have all the rooms you need.
Blonde now have a link with laterooms so you could possibly tie something in and benefit everyone.

Thanks guys, good idea Matt, problem with that is getting the events organised when I stay over somewhere. The reason I haven't posted the route is because it will all depend on where I end up staying. I will post the route at a later date and ask for further help in specific areas, if required.
If anyone knows of an organisation who would be prepared to pay for advertising space, feel free to ask them to contact me. I feel there is no reason why we can't raise a considerable amout of money for McMillan, Marie Curie and CRUK with this venture.
