Running the half marathon on 4th September for Cancer research UK for the 1st time ever.

Know times are tight for everyone(and also know there’s tons of people doing stuff for charity) so no pressure but if anybodies feeling generous to spare a £ or 5. I’ve only raised £10 so far :-( but going to accost my family, friends & colleagues over next few days since paydays been/coming up and aim for £200 :-) Have had quite a few people saying they are going to donate soon.

The link is http://www.justgiving.com/Stuart-Wright3/

Been telling everyone that my aim is to do it in 2 hours but my old man done it in 1 hour 55 mins in his 1st attempt so secretely hoping to beat his time.

Wish me luck!!!!

Great stuff. How did it feel? Did you manage to run an even pace, and what was the weather like?

At the start there was no chance of running too fast cuz there was so many people that maybe helped...but I really didn't train properly...my mates back from oz & went on a bender last weekend & Friday went out with intentions of drinking water but that turned into vodka cranberry-bein a diuretic and all ;-) then at end of night was drinking jamieson and ginger ale so was hungover Saturday :-/

It was weird tho because at 8th mile I felt great and was sayin to myself when we get to 10 up the pace but I totally hit the wall about 9.5 then struggled afterwards...next year I'm aiming to do it in 1.45 which without going out and training properly I thinks well achievable. My mYers who used to he quite chubby done it in 1.34 which I thinks quite impressive. I went out tonight shattered thinking is be sleeping early but managed to stay out for my mate going back to oz.

Weather was scorchio which is obviously unusual in Glasgow
