Yes.

Because I has got position and a purr which might become a set.

Actually it depends on who's in the blinds and how deep we are. Can we call a 3 bet and know that we're up against a narrow range or are either blinds likely to 3 bet a very wide range?

Our hand plays reasonably against AAxx or KKxx type hands but if they're 3 betting 5,6,7,8 as well then we're fooked.

I don't think our hand plays well against either AAxx / KKxx or anything we get 3b by.

It does if you're deep enough to set mine and your oppo will pay you off if you hit.

It's heavily oppo dependant obviously but now you've said that we're 100bbs against 2 unknowns then obviously it plays shit.

If I had just joined the table and knew nothing about the blinds I'd prob raise any 4, just to see what they did.  If 3 bet I'd prob fold this but maybe call something similar without a pair.  If called I'd cbet a high flop and check anything that I had a bit of equity.

I probably would open up here. It's a lovely hand. Wouldn't mind calling a 3-bet either if nice and deep...fold to it when 100bbs deep though.

Change the two spades to a and I'm almost in love with it.

its a dogshit hand

I still open it if unopened 100% of the time. I pretty much opening everything that isnt trips OTB, this hand 100bb eff I would fold to a 3bet in general circumstances, If we were a touch deeper and I had some reads on the blinds (something specific about there 3b/3b pot tendencies) then i'd prolly peel a 3bet but readless id just open and then fold to a 3bet. I dont care if there is someone shrewd in the blinds and starts 3betting wider cos i have a high btn steal cos most of the time I wnt fold to there 3bets

agreed. also we can open on the btn for whatever size we want and manipulate the 3betting dynamics and also change the required success % of steals. 100bb deep I like 2.5bb on btn most of the time in plo and min-raise in holdem vs competent blinds as a starting strategy. what are other opening to?

Dave what's your stat on me for button open?

on one of your accounts I have you 38/38 in unopened btns and 56% ISO limper. 36/36 in unopened pots and 51% ISO on the other account.

My stats are 44/44 41%ISO. so pretty solid all around really

What an odd thread. Yeah open it. I think it's a losing if the blinds are very tough though.
