There has been much speculation about the situation between The Hendon Mob & Prima. We don't have a flag to fly for either of them, but so much of what has been said is just plain wrong. "They have been sacked", "the contract has been terminated", "they did not win much", "they did not do this, that or the other".

I have good contacts with the Prima people, we worked with them in Monte Carlo, & hope to do so again. I was chatting with their peeps from New York this afternoon, so took the opportunity to ask them the score. Essentially, this summarises what Prima say.

The contract was not terminated. It ended.

The Contract fulfilled it's goals in every sense. "Mission accomplished".

Relationships betwen The Mob & Prima remain superb.

They may well work together again, on an ad-hoc basis, when opportunity arises, in the future.

Both parties deemed the Contract to be a total success.

So there you have it. My OWN view of the deal was that it opened a lot of doors for a lot of people in the poker community, above & beyond Prima & The Hendon Mob. For which many of us should be grateful.

I read the statement on their site earlier and I agree that it has been a pioneering deal. Most of the mud slinging will as always, be thrown by jealous wannabes.

Anyone know much about the "Pokertour" they have now signed up for? Is it a rival to EPT?

Tikay - I don't know any of the Hendon Mob, I have nothing against any of them and I admire their achievements on and off the poker table.

However, I think it is probably fair to say that Prima have decided that their resources can be employed more efficiently elsewhere.

When Man United parted company with Roy Keane, Alex Ferguson praised the contribution that Keane had made towards their successes and Keane said it was a great honour to have represented United but we all know that their relationship had reached a breaking point.

all i can say is when the mob signed with primapoker prima were a nobody on the poker market it can now be said they are in the top 3 not all of this was due to the mob of course but the mob helped the fact the mob where invited on talk shows and radio shows and got the name accross and the fact they were the first big sponsorship deal meant that prima got much needed advertsing for $1 mill a year (or what ever the deal was) i am sure if they actaully had to pay for tv and radio adverts for the amount of time the mob got them the real cost would have been huge

Your points are all valid Ironside but Prima have still decided that their resources can be employed more efficiently elsewhere.

Correct. Because the Contract has achieved all the goals it set out to achieve. The job is done. The Contract was honoured. Both parties are decidely happy. Suggesting that "resources can be employed more efficiently elsewhere" is true, but it implies there was dissatisfaction. There was not. If I am given a, say, 3 year deal, when it concludes I am not sacked - I have successfully finished the job.

No problem Tikay, I think we both know what we are saying.

Good show last night.

Thank Gurnfish, I don't have a problem AT ALL with ouir differing views on a very interesting subject. And as I said, we don't have any flag to fly for Prima, though blonde have done some work for them once, or for The Hendon Mob, all of whom I know, & find very likeable guys. I just got a bit troubled that the thing was being percieved incorrectly.

Last night's show? Not seen it yet, will watch it later. I'm a little uncomfortable with it, to be truthful. We tried the "two Presenter" format for the first time, & I'm not sure it worked. The Wormster worked very hard (for the first time....) & put together a good running order, but I'm not sure, for my part, that we did it justice. It seemed to me, as we recorded it, to be a bit lacking in cohesion, something did not feel quite right. Jonny Gould was feeding me the prompts a treat, but I'm just not sure I delivered as "naturally" as I normally try to. My goal is always to talk on the show exactly as I would if I were in a room with someone, talking to YOU. I dunno. The recordings I think are good tend to disappoint me when I see them, & the ones I thought were bad turn out to be, well, also bad....

Oddly, I've had a lot of PM's, Phone Calls & Texts commenting on my "I'm a fashion shepherd, not a sheep" comment. Perhaps I should try more one-liners.
