Doncaster Rovers have sacked Sean O'Driscoll today, who's worked miracles there over the last few years.

Apparently, there's been a split at boardroom level.  John Ryan wanted him to stay but the two guys they're reliant on for funds wanted Dean Saunders in.  Ryan was quoted yesterday saying he wouldn't be sacked!

Terrible news for Doncaster Rovers, IMO, as they've just lost their best shot at defying the odds once again.

Yeh really bad decision. With Billy Sharp fit they aren't bottom. He'll not struggle to get a job. Forest if Mclaren quits was my first thought. Got to work on a budget but that budget would seem massive to O'Driscoll.

To be fair they've been shocking this year and were dreadful at the back end of last year.  Not sure about the Saunders appointment though!???

Quite fancy Palace tomorrow on the back of this news.  Can't imagine players are too impressed and Palace were decent in last couple of games v Boro.

Much of that can be attributed to injuries though, and they don't exactly have the squad depth to cover losing players like Billy Sharp for extended periods of time.

For the whole period of O'Driscoll's tenure they've also received plaudits for their style of football too.

I'm at a loss to figure out exactly what the DRFC board expect them to achieve.  I certainly don't think Saunders is going to be the answer though!

i was surprised too, not sure about Dean Saunders though as not tried at top level and was best bet for wrexham to get back in the league, but like you say its all down to money and wrexham are skint anyway, just another big name player but can he manage? we will see

Well he has already done better than he did in his first 7 or so games!

Billy Sharp back, can see them staying up. No idea who will go down, Bristol City, Watford, Coventry perhaps, maybe Barnsley but seem solid away from home.

This was part of why the decision seemed so harsh.  Just as they were about to get the key players back from injury, he gets sacked, and Saunders gets the benefit.

We were unlucky to not win yesterday, despite being 8 players down due to injury.  We're playing better away from home than at Oakwell, but need to start turning the draws into wins.  That's the 3rd game in a row that we 'should' have won and didn't.

Quite impressed that we're unbeaten in 4 away games at Forest, Reading, Millwall and Birmingham and the two defeats we've had were to Southampton and Middlesbrough.

Tough away trip to Derby on Tuesday.  We could do with a few players back, and quickly!

Get on. Probably don't get paid.

A few people mentioning him already after the news Mclaren has gone.
Everyone wants O'Neill but i'm not sure that is realistic.
I reckon SOD has a decent chance.

when everyone wanted o'driscoll he stuck by donny so the club deserves everything they get for turning their backs on him. even with billy the legend back i cant see em avoiding the drop.
