Hey guys,

Unfortunately, there will be no cash prize from the WSOPE shootout tournament.

I felt that things went pretty well, but ultimately made little mark, and exited in 4th out of 9 players at the table. The deck was never with me, and let me down on the two crucial occasions:

1) At the 50-100 level, O'Dwyer raised UTG, I had AsKs and called UTG +1, and the other caller was a young French guy on the button. He was the only player that didn't make up a horribly tough table (moorman, Timex, O'Dwyer, Persson, and a couple of EPT regs whose names I didn't know, it defintiely wasn't a kind table draw), and he had just lost half of his stack, and seemed very ready from his demeanour to get the other half in.

The flop came Two Diamonds, O'Dwyer checked, I bet 500 in 850, and the young French guy slammed his 3350 into the pot. To be honest, I slam called, and expect most of all to see something like Ad5d, and alot of the time something much more favorable like AhJh or Ah5h, even 5h4h. I'm pretty convinced most of those hands would indeed have gone in, but this time he had a set of deuces, for what felt like a pretty cruel cooler.

2) With 4 players left, at 75/150 (25), I was loitering with 4.1k. I shipped from UTG with Ksqc, O'Dwyer quickly called the small blind, and I was quite surpirsed to see 44. Although it is racing against so much of my range, it is obviously more likely to be behind than ahead, enough to not justify the thin pot odds. However, I couldn't get there on a A32T7 board.

Sorry for the bad news, thanks again guys.

News for the Main Event to follow, depending on Coventry result!
