GUKPT Ricohnvenes in Coventry – October 9th-16th 2011

The Ricoh Arena is back in action this month, after hosting the Goliath £100 event which broke the European land-based record in August.  The G Casino now welcomes players for the 5th leg of the regular GUKPT tour, kicking off next week.  The Main Event buy in might be ten times that of Goliath, but the action will be just as furious as up to 200 players per starting flight compete for a prestigious Main Tour trophy.  Featuring a starting stack of 15,000 and a full hour clock, the Main Event upholds the GUKPT’s structurally-sound reputation, whatever the buy-in.

Last year’s Coventry leg saw GUKPT sponsored pro Stuart Rutter take his first title on the tour, picking up £41,910 for his victory at the UK’s central casino venue.  At last converting one of several final table appearances into a win, Rutter now competes both on the circuit as a whole and as part of Grosvenor Casinos’ Heads Up Hitman challenge.

Win up to $35,000 by collecting points online throughout October to qualify for two tournaments (prizepools  $10,000 and $25,000) the winners of which take on one-on-one a series of tough heads up opponents including both Rutter and Jeff Kimber.

The Main Event

Friday 14th Oct - £1,000 + £70 NL Hold'em Main Event Day 1a      12pm     (3 days)
Friday 14th Oct - £1,000 + £70 NL Hold'em Main Event Day 1b      6pm       (3 days)

Play will recommence at 2pm on the second and third days of the tournament.

Registration closes 15 minutes before the start of each tournament, however late entries/alternates are accepted during the first three levels of play in the main event.

Side events

9th October  - £30 + £5 NL Hold'em Rebuy 10 Seat Gtd Super Satellite to Main Event 7.30pm (1 day) 10th October - £100 + £10 £NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (1 day)
11th October - £300 + £30 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (2 days)
12th October - £150 + £15 Omaha D/C Freezeout 6.00pm (1 day)
12th October - £150 + £15 NL Hold'em Freezeout Super Satellite to Main Event   8.30pm (1 day)
13th October - £200 + £20 NL Hold'em 6 Max Freezeout 7.30pm (1 day)
13th October - £50 + £5 Main Event Super Satellite 1 x Re-Buy or Add-On 9.00pm (1 day)
15th October - £250 + £25 NL Hold'em Freezeout Re-entry 6.00pm (2 days)
16th October - £100 + £10 NL Hold'em Bounty Booster Tournament 5.00pm (1 day)

there are 10 seats guaranteed in the £30 Super Satellite on Sunday evening at the G Casino itself.  Following that are two more – one freezeout and one single-rebuy – to suit a range of bankrolls.

Further details of structure and stacks for all events at GUKPT Leg 5: Coventry can be found on http://www.gukpt.com.

Probably not. After this weekend's DTD update (DTD updates the first priority) then the update fund doesn't have the £ to do one next week

We'll see, but it would be last minute if something turns up

Stick me down for £100 too, please. Stu Rutter, Mr Scobie-Trumper, Camel & even Vinni have all been kind to me recently on Staking threads.

It only clashes with the main event and the Omaha, so can't see Cannes taking many from the field.  And I wouldn't be too unhappy if the bright young things of the UK poker scene are in Cannes for the week.

Will be like the good old days in Coventry.  Should be 200 in the circumstances

Rich,

Did you get the necessary "permissions", & will you be there?
