Tonight's the Night ...Aha
For every player you knock out you claim 75% of their bounty and 25% is added to your own head value
So for clarity - each KO is worth £37.50 (at 1st hand) and 12.50 gets added to your head?
So if a villain is worth £100 - you get £75 and 25 gets added to your head?
Im presuming that a running player "value" is shown?
sigh - gonna have to work out dynamics really quickly
I don't know your Screen-Name next door, so no idea how it went for you, but hopefully you binked a bit.

It got a staggering 329 runners (200 needed to "cover" Guarantee). Even more amazing is that the "regular" nightly Main Event (also an 8pm start) was also a Bounty Hunter, priced at £22, which needed 400 to cover it's £8k G'tee, & that one got 545 runners. Bounty Hunters get sniffed at by the heavy brigade, but the regular players love them, the numbers conclusively prove that.
Tonight it is the Omaha Rebuy, priced at £55 & with a £10,000 Guarantee. Cheapo Satellites will be running all day.
I should remind everyone that Rebuys (&/or Add-on) on Sky Poker are "raked", exactly the same as the entry fee is. And no, I don't agree with it, but it is what it is, so I want to ensure the blondes know BEFORE they Register, & if they wanna flame, so be it.
Worth also mentioning that the Add-On gives 50% "bonus" chips. (4,000 starting chips, rebuys available immerdiately you are sub 4,000, the Add-On gives 6,000 chips).

Tikay- am quite frankly shocked that they rake rebuys! For someone who has always said prize pools should be protected for the players- is there nothing you can do about this?

Nope. I disagree with it, strongly, but I understand why they do it, & that's that really. To be pedantic, it has absolutely nothing, zilch, nada, to do with "protecting" Prize Pools, rake or Reg Fee is nothing to do with Prize Pools, here, or anywhere else.
I try to ensure that would-be players are aware of it in advance, so there can be no misunderstanding afterwards, & players cannot suggest they were unaware. As long as it is made known that they are raked, to be honest, it causes me no problems even though I disagree with it. There are lots of things in life I don't agree with, so I make my choices accordingly. Poker is restricted to adults, who can & should have the absolute choice & right whether to accept it or not. For me, my conscience is satisfied if I do my best to make people aware of it in advance, as I have again today, even though I know I'll get a black eye or two.
Sorry you won't be joining us tonight - I think it'll be a cracking Event.

Not skipping it due to the rake of rebuys but I do think it's very wrong. I've never heard of such a thing live or online.

As at 10am today, 66 were Registered. The Guarantee is £10k, so it needs 200 Entries/rebuys/add-ons to "cover". I am extremely bullish abouit it covering, despite the fact that Omaha liquidity remains very low, & is a work-in-progress. (30% of yesterday's UKOPS1 field were direct buy-ins during the hour prior to start time).
And yes, the add-on is raked/reg fee'd.....!
I believe the "bonus" add-on equates to 30 Bigs at time of Add-On.

No, it's very much a non-standard thing in the industry, but then again, Sky Poker do a lot of things that are not industry standard. Some good, some bad.
I have made my case, & moved on, I don't run the place, & it's not the sort of thing I'm gonna get too upset about, as long as it is not done covertly, or "on the quiet". I strongly beleve in the free market.
It has been the case there since Rebuys were first introduced, & an analysis of the numbers who play the Rebuys there shows it has accepted by the vast majority of the player base.

No Late Entries as yet, Ralph, that's in Development 10.5 I believe, scheduled for early 2012. In time for the next renewal of UKOPS, then.....

It's the way things are going with poker - how many live rebuys now have a % of the prize pool raked instead of a fee? Re-entries in live tourneys are effectively raked rebuys and a lot of the players on sky won't know that there was a time when rebuys and addons were juice free.

Tikay please believe me when I say I'm not trying to stir up a shitstorm. However seeing as sky poker is aimed at the new player probably moreso than any site, they're not really going to be aware that raking rebuys is not the standard are they? Again correct me if I'm wrong and it states this somewhere clearly.
