There's something called SEO (search engine optimisation) which is something smaller companies and brands use to help them "climb" search engine rankings and appear closer to the top thus increasing the likelihood that they will get "stumbled" upon. My girlfriend actually does this sort of thing for a living, so if you PM me some details and don't mind spending a little money, she/we may be able to help you with whatever you need.

Is it for your own business? SEO is one way maybe cost you £150 a month to get on 1st page. I'm just considering it, recently set up a website myself but not getting enough views. I'm assured SEO is the answer.

Cowboy outfits selling SEO are ten a penny, & have a lower rating than Bank Staff, Estate Agents, & Policemen, even lower than Mods, in fact.

How does £150 to get you on the first page work?  Anyone can get on the first page of results for an obscure search phrase that no one actually searches for and will bring in very few potential customers to your site.

The site I work on at the moment attracts over 25,000 unique daily visitors, and these come in on the back of over 15,000 different search phrases - many of which are unique and no one else comes in to the site via that same phrase during the year.

SEO is part of the marketing mix, and for small businesses and niche sites it can be a very cost-effective way of getting good quality traffic.  Unfortunately, most people who claim to work in SEO or offer SEO services don't actually understand what it actually is and certainly don't know how to optimise a site correctly.

Yeah i know Tikay i've been stung before, its the new yellow pages, i get at least 2 people everyweek trying to sell it me. This what i'm looking at now is same but different, company who is offering it is called youronlinesetup. Take a look see what you think. The phrases ive been offered are "Electrician in Barnsley" "Electrician in South Yorkshire" i'm off for a pint.com
