Just go out and sign Cherno Samba, Lewis Buxton and Henry Saviet . Job done.

Blackburn 0 Bolton 1

More of the ball, more chances but Bolton take all 3 points with a smash and grab performance when Hoilett lost Muamba from a set-piece.

Formica and Hoilett combined well and that was one of a few positives I could take out of the game.

Lined up like this....

Robinson

Salgado
Samba
Nelson
Olsson

Petkovic
N'Zonzi

Hoilett
Formica
MGP

Yakubu

Newcastle 2 Blackburn 1

Dann replaced Nelson in the only change to the starting 11. Poor first half so introduced LuaLua and Goodwillie at the break and it paid off instantly as LuaLua played a part in a goal for Goodwillie. However, Newcastle instantly hit back through MoM Gutierrez and shortly after they grabbed what proved to be the winner. Hoilett looked to have equalised in the 86th minute but it was ruled out for offside, it was very close.

Not the ideal start to the season but I don't think we are playing too badly. Transfer window still open so will have to consider diving back in as have some funds from letting Hanley and Lowe leave on loan.

I've had to stick with Salgado, only other viable option was to bring in ex-Celtic right back Andreas Hinkel but didn't think he was worth the $30k a week I would have had to pay him.

Dumped out the League Cup by giants Gillingham on penalties after a handful of sitters missed by Roberts. Things aren't looking good.

Blackburn 3 Liverpool 0

Super delighted with the performance. Should have been more than 3 but we were 3 up after 20 mins and cruised. Roberts again missed a number of chances but led the line very well, hopefully he starts tucking them away.

Vukcevic seems like a real player and totally destroyed Liverpool. MGP has been demoted to the bench.

The poor form of Roberts and Yakubu has led me to dip into the transfer market days before it ends to bring in unknown Colombian Jackson Martinez, it's a huge risk and already I'm thinking it could be a bad move.

Sigh, jinxed it, Vukcevic out for 3 months after getting nailed from Paulo Ferreira during a 3-0 defeat at The Bridge.

First time I've had a chance to play since Sunday and got some horror news: I stated in my squad assessment that I needed Robbo to stay fit for the entire season but he's out for 2-3 months after pulling up in training. Bunn will deputise.

Spirited display away at City, losing 1-0. Swansea up next, must win.

Ten games in, sitting 16th with a lowly 9 points. Pardew just got sacked and bizarrely I've been linked with the job.

Back to back 2-1 wins over Wigan (A) and Sunderland have the Rovers up to a towering 13th. Jackson Martinez who I was close to writing off as a misfit comes off the bench with 5 minutes to go to grab a 89th minute winner against Sunderland.

Trying to get some screenshots on the go.
