GUKPT Leg 6: Back to Blackpool
The penultimate leg of the 2011 GUKPT is about to get underway at the G Casino at the Sandcastle. Starting with an early opportunity to secure a seat in the last £1,000 Main Event of the year in the £30 rebuy satellite on Sunday evening, the festival covers the poker spectrum from a £500 freezeout (10,000 starting stack, 45 minute clock) on Tuesday via Omaha on Wednesday, the now-regular £200 6-max on Thursday, all the way to the two £100 events (one at the real felt and one on the virtual) which round off the week.
Blackpool’s Main Event returns to the two-start-day format, with flights taking off on both Thursday and Friday at 12pm. Last year’s Blackpool Main Event winner, David Johnson, collected a cool £67,500 for the title, on his triumphant march toward being crowned the 2010 GUKPT Player of the year.
