Ha!

Never heard of geocaching until this thread.

Did a little research and it turns out there is a cache here: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=04bc8218-917a-4b6e-a735-0f5b8972822b which was basically at the far end of the garden of our old house.

Explains why there would quite frequently be people looking around like they'd lost something!

I've spent the last three months going to every charity shop in the country to hunt through the VHS section.

Costing me a fortune.

Anyone want to buy Rosemary Conelly Collection or Sharpe series 2?

Red Dwarf Smeg Ups?

Ghost 2?

I am taking on the trip:

Friend. 6ft 4. Willing to slap people if needed  be my wingman if trouble arrives.
Flipcam (to record the house entry etc..)
Iphone (with flashlight app installed, if its dark in the house)

Baton if needs must, for entering closed door or getting trapped.

£40 for fish and chips and beer money (after the event).

Ok, I got my mate Sibby to come along with me on a trip to Settle, as he is a dolite I had to pay the two £12 day returns from Leeds. The £12 was a no brainer and worth the investment as he is very big, up for anything and backup for me if owt goes wrong (at this point I am still in two minds weather it was going to be dangerous or not).

He had a concealed baton (see pic) I had my iphone and £40 quid to cover beer and grub. Also the coords for the cache and house I never went to the first visit. I put the coords into the map app and had a very good idea how to get there from Settle, I guessed about 20mins walk would be fine.

It was about 7am we setoff and it was flipping freezing, I told the full story to Sibby on the way there so he knew what to expect. I know it sounds silly but checking the back of the radiator in the station again had never crossed my mind, but Sibby asked if we should check the spot again. Erm sure, didn't expect anything but was worth a peek.

We got off train and the place was dead, dunno what Settle is like but I guess most people leave it to go to work elsewhere, the station was quiet so we went to the room and put my arm down the back. No Video, but there was something wedged right as bottom, out comes the baton and I slam it down so the item pops out the bottom.

Before you could count to 5 the item was open and it was a cd/dvd looked blank with some writing on front of it. "Sleeping Beauty 2011?" in small writing on the back of it and i mean tiny, very hard to see was a list of coords..

Now this is where it gets fuking weird. I know its not normal upto now but the coords were:

42° 26' 05"N   83° 59' 06"W

I ask you to go to google maps and zoom into what it is called.

So we have hell in a handbasket referance and a film I assume on DvD/cd. I google the movie and it looks like a bag of bollocks tbh, don't understand why its there or what it means, but before we plod off to the house I wanna see whats on it.  We go to a local hotel/pub where I know there is a TV room, pretty private off the main food/bar area.

We order two full English breakfast and put in the DvD. Anyone who has used movie maker knows the annoying titles that go across the screen well this had some that was something like "Glad you came back, enjoy the movie", we watched like 30mins of the movie which was about some women selling herself to old geezers in a large house. Sibby is pissing himself and starts to think this is a setup by me. I told him if I was going to set him up with a prank it would'nt be over an hour away from Leeds and costing me money.

We plan to finish up and go for the walk to the house...i put the cd in my coat and we setoff..

No slowroll here got cold in bed so gonna nap and put restup later, warning its not a great ending..
