I've no evidence to back it up but after much research and testing... It does not make you go blind I think this calls for an epxermiment! I'll be the 5 pint subject, you can be 7, we need a volunteer for 10 and 12.

You can be '12' I've suffered from Chronic Beergogglitis since my teens, many a nightclub experience involved me chatting up a girl, only for a mate to stand quietly behind her doing the 'chewing arm off' code signal.

When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life. J Lennon

Was told at 17 that I had perfect vision and the chances of me needing glasses before 40 was infinitesimally small. Three years later I was (and still am obv) short sighted and needed glasses to drive. Bastards.

Ever wondered why it is called 20/20 vision? Because if you stand 20 feet from the chart and can read the same line as the 'standard' person can also read from 20 feet then you have normal vision. Some people have 20/18 (or better) vision i.e. they can read from 20 feet what a normal person has to stand 18 feet away to read.
In the UK it's metric so normal vision is 6/6 (metres). I'm 2/60 - I have to stand 6 feet from the chart to just make out the letter at the top....

I went to the opticians because I was getting a strange cloudy patch on the outside of my iris, turned out to be nothing (caused by dry eyes, staring at a computer screen too much).
Did an eye test at the same time and I've always had perfect vision (eyesight pretty good in my family) but turned out one eye was starting to get a little weaker. I had no idea until I did the test. Luckily the optician said the difference was very minute and that I had nothing to worry about for a while.
