Loved that horse.

Best commentary - Harry Carpenter - rumble in the jungle, makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck even now. Awsome.

Sigh. The 2 most memorable "famous moments" in sport I was there for was Eng v WI where all 4 innings took place in one day at Lords (started off with Darren Gough catching Sherwin Campbell at 3rd Man iirc ... Oh and this:

Just found this link in my favourites: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4010137.stm

Quote
AFC Wimbledon set a new English senior record after a 1-1 Ryman Division One draw at Bromley saw them extend their unbeaten league run to 76 games.

I was at that game, superb goal from Ursell to equalise. I was also at the game 3 matches later which ended the unbeaten run at 78 games - think that could stand for a very long time Smiley

i could post loads of athletics ones but i remember this so fondly, can't remember why but there was a load of us watching it in our house, everyone pretty subdued expecting the inevitable USA walkover, by the last 100 metres there was a room full of people jumping up and down shouting so loudly they could probably here us in the stadium.

So glad you posted this, I think this is one of the most underrated easily forgotten British successes in recent years, I remember a bunch of us jumping up and down in our house too.

Nowhere near a greatest moment, but instantly thought of Steve Davis rolling back the years against Higgins last year.

Personal favourite. I remember watching this with my family just willing Frank to stay on his feet in the final round.

I know nothing of F1, but I always remember this, not because of Hill, but because of Murray Walker
