Can't wait for this, I need it to be good.

I keep watching the trailers and want George Lucas to make a film like that, not like Clone Wars.

3-4m might be a bit optimistic.  I thought I read presales were about 1.3m though so you never know.  All depends on how the end game content is, Rift never became that popular in the end.

Tempted to give it a go but not sure I want to spend the time playing another game.

I assume this is a new MMORPG?

Will it be along the lines of the Knights of the Old Republic games I played a few years back, or is the title a coincidence.  They were easily among the most enjoyable computer games I've ever played.

I weened myself off WoW a few years ago after getting sucked in for a time, so the prospect of this sounds quite scary.

Must resist, must resist...

Its been a while since i've actually played proper computer games but this is interesting me.... i've never played any games like WoW etc but is there an endgame to these stories? I.E can you ever complete it or get to the top?

I take it its more levels and you can get to the very top but then have to work hard to stay there?

Most people I know waiting for a few weeks until the game/servers settle to buy. I bet once the world spreads people will leave wow.

I am not 100% sure server yet, waiting to hear from guilds i might go with.

The questing is much more story based and the class quests are really fun, i think its only 50+ levels then u can either raid, explore, pvp etc...most games open up for you once you hit the max level.

It's mostly about end game content but there's end as such.  In WoW you get to form groups with other real players and take on either other groups of players (PVP) or raid instances, I imagine in SWTOR it's a bit like in the film when the goodies attached the Death Star for example. (PVE)

I did a bit of research after reading this thread and might allow myself to be sucked in over the Christmas break.  Looks interesting!

My advice would be to wait until after xmass for sure.

Even with pre-order only in at the mo there is huge queues for some servers and the newbie areas are busy/laggy.

One good thing is that alot of your class quests are in your own instance. Once you hit about 7-8 you get a companion, depending on your class etc they are slightly different. Mines a dps warr who basically makes soloing and questing twenty times faster, based on how you react to NPCs in quests the more faction you gain with your companion.

I will be going Healer range spell DPS. Most probs pvp as soon as I hit 10 Smiley servers down all morning.

Bought it, played it for the first time yesterday evening.

GG, life!  As feared, it's a great cross between WoW and the old KOTOR games.

Acidmouse, sorry but I'm going to have to hunt you down for creating this thread.  The good news is I'm busy for the forseeable future though!
