€190 + 10 MTT Freezeout online. Start with 5k chips. 15 min clock. Loads of play in these.

Villain has played quite a few pots aggressively in these early stages, usually betting 2/3 or full pot. He has only shown down once and that was against a short stack. He had AQ on a Q high flop. I have him down as a solid player, but of course I could be wrong.

Blinds 50/100. Villain opens from seat 6 for 285 from 6.5k in mid position.

I raise to 900 from 5.5k in seat 7 with    all fold, villain calls.

Flop

Villain bets 900.

OK so far?

How should we proceed?

I don't often give first thoughts on PHA as I think there are better players here to do so. I've decided to think bollocks and reply anyway as this may help me long term rather than just reading other peoples thoughts. Celtic is obviously correct IMO in that we want to get it in. I think his 900 (~ half pot as apposed to 2/3 or pot) bet into just under 2k is a draw. I'm raising to get it in here.

I assume you flat called Tom?

This is good because it massively underreps/disguises your hand and may mean villain value towns himself with Kx or bluffs/semibluffs off another barrel on the turn.

The problem with it on this board is that there's not many good turn cards that we're happy to see him barrelling. We don't like a K or club at all. We don't like a Q or a 7. we don't much like a J or T either. So that's about half the deck that's bad. These cards also may scare him from betting again.

By raising now you can also rep some draws, you don't always have to have a monster. Him donking also suggests to me he might be a bit of a fish as not many good players donk bet. So if you raise he won't realise quite how strong your hand is and will stack off with any Kx plus he's getting all his draws in.

For those reasons, I'd make it 2.1k and call a shove.

Agree and I wanna call, we have very few draws in our range. Folding/jamming depending on the turn card. What site is this on?

If Red-dog pins him down as a solid player i'd be inclined to think in this format he could be a decent reg more often than not and isn't calling off flop with KQ.
