Decision with AQ

Probably not the most exciting post you'll read but I shall continue lest anyone is at a loose end...

Live £40 f/o. c60 of 80 remain, avg chips c20k.

I have just joined table. Image probably v aggro as have opened about 4 from 8 pots, I have however only showed once and it was aces.

I am playing c20k, villain 1 c15k, villain 2 c25k. Blinds are 200/400 25a for a couple minutes more, clock only 20mins.

I open AQo to 1050 in MP. Villain 1 peels, villain 2 3bets to 3600 from the cut off.

Seems young/competent, though its a £40er so let's not get too carried away.

Do we...

A) Fold
B) Jam
C) 4b/call
D) 4b/fold

If we 4b and he calls what do we do with flops where we:

A) pair up/have overs and any sort of draw
B) miss

If his hand was face up there are only 4 hands I wouldn't jam over the top of - AA/KK/QQ/AK.

Given I have blockers to three of those four hands....is it really reasonable to assign such a tight range to his 3bet and therefore fold?

Why is calling the 3bet not an option? We keep his range wide etc. If we didn't assume he had a wide squeezing range here then we'd be folding right?

Calling 3bets OOP is often a bit icky, but this is a spot where it is probably fine, especially given stack sizes, assumptions about opponents, and our actual hand.

Then we check-jam a TON of flops. Probably not Kxx ones, and perhaps not Axx or Qxx ones either (we might check-fold the first one, and can check-call the latter two). Check-jamming just about every other flop works really well with effective stacks: maximises against flop cbet bluffs; sometimes folds out better (e.g. unimproved AK and second pair type hands); and protects our hand vs 6 outs when we are ahead with AQ high, having first got opponent to put a cbet into the pot.

This can be a really good exploitative way to play AQ in spots like this.

The second villain in the hand will probably come along for value if you call pre, messing up your plan for the flop.

i like calling more than 4betting, would prolly just fold though I think we can live pretty happily without needing to play this hand we have 50bigs and it's a live tourney, nomnomnom
