I can understand people being against RF's but I don't see the big deal.  $1 room +$99 RF is just marketing dross compared to $100/night room.

I also have never seen the big deal about resort fees.  It's just marketing (or maybe tax related?) and if they were done away with tomorrow the room prices would just increase by the same amount.  As long as it's not a hidden surprise its not something I can get excited about.

Is there anything to be gained by booking a hotel through an MLife account?

Deal coming up as a similar price to lowcostusa after resort fee added. Would prob rather just pay in sterling but, if there is a possible perk, I'm all ears.

I imagine that mlife will just ask for a deposit to lock up the room with the balance being paid on arrival/on departure with a credit card on the room. I guess lowcost are pay in full/no changes at time of booking?

Also, if it's paid in full in advance through lowcost, I don't suppose it'd be very easy to receive comps against your room charge for any 'action' given or poker hours you've put in on the cash tables etc? Of course, you may still qualify for adjustments to any incidentals charged to the room based on your play.

No you defo wont get any comps against your room rate, but unless you gamble a decent amount you don't get much off anyway. Poker will be the standard buck an hour cash games only. Last time in an mlife property I just used the points gained on food, didn't come to much.

Have just spoken to lowcostusa and have learned that MGM Group will shortly be charging resort fees separately for international customers. This might mean the prices don't change much but then you get stung for a pony a night when you check in.

Believed to be coming in "mid-March", so be wary of indecisiveness.

Cave ditherum and all that.

If that happens, that's lowcost trying their luck.

I still see it as fairly easy exercise to compare like with like just by making sure you take 1 minute to identify the total cost, so you can price compare.

Yes, fair enough, but it seems likely the prices will be a touch higher come then.

Hardly like it's dirt cheap as it is with $1.5/£1. Prices seem higher than last year, even through the value websites. I assume that's why.

First time I went to Vegas it was two to the pound. I had no idea how good that was!

Dollar is down ~10%, which doesn't help...

Simon and I have had the RF convo many times on here, and we both adopt exactly the same stance.

I'm happy to pay X for Y, and I don't care if it's all upfront, or if they want to charge less initially, and then nip me for another score daily.

That said, I've swerved the resort fee at the Palazzo when I stayed there, and that was through Lowcost, on their 'pay resort fees at destination' room.

I think Brits take it much better than Americans, who I've seen throwing monster tantrums over what was a $5 resort fee, at the Golden Nugget.

'That's me done with Vegas, there is no way I'm paying a resort fee to stay at the Nugget', and 'I'll just go to Primm' was another Cheesy

I like flinging a bit of fuel on the fire with my views, whenever I see people getting really bent up about the fees.

I got annoyed at the fees when they first came out because as a lowroller who goes out for at least 10 days - it adds up! When I first went out there were no fees and you'd pay 35 a night for Ballys in the week and obv 70-80 fri/sat. Now you still pay 40/night weekdays and 80/night weekends, but they tack on the 20 a night resort fee for shit you dont use lol!

Basically, when they first came out they were a sneaky way of increasing room rates and advertised as non-mandatory when they were, and people saw through it. Nowadays I don't care, but just raise the rates or at least let the cheap fkers say no thanks, I dont want access to that stuff, take it off.

I've been to Vegas many times but I'm not aware what this piece of code is a euphemism for.

Vic&Anthonys

I wouldn't make a special trip from the strip for it, but if playing poker in the Nugget, it has a good bar to eat at and plenty of ok salads and sides to go with a decent steak.  Usually comes to a bit less than a strip equivalent, I usually find myself in here once each trip at some point.

That's not a bad deal, if you're only paying $20 a night more overall. If you've been going for a few years, that is...

In some instances they are optional, so it's not every place that has made them mandatory.

They could just bang room rates up $20, and not give anyone a thing.
