There's usually a WPT circuit event on at Caesars which overlaps the first week of the DSE.

Binion's has a decent tourney on Sundays but seem to have stopped putting on their fall festival which was "The Open" IIRC and the Nugget doesn't usually have anything apart from the regular card-room schedule and the juicy $1/$2 cash-games at that time of year.

Orleans offering 5x$28 and 2x$64 on a code.

Pretty good value if you are price-sensitive.  Could easily rent a car on top to compensate for location and still be well under strip rates.

Looking at going for 10 days.

My sister is coming with me for shopping etc.  I'm ofc paying for her hotel.  Any deece places that do 2 bed suites or should I just go for 2 rooms @ Caesars/Venetian etc.  Had a brief scan of prices and they seemed more expensive than the summer!

2bed suites are usually way more expensive than 2 really nice rooms.  Elara (what was PH Westgate) might be worth a look, otherwise 2 rooms anywhere you like will probably be less than a 2BDR suite in an average hotel.

Obv dates are very important as rates vary so much.

Just taking a random week in November, a 2BD Tower Suite in Mirage is $500/night.  a 2BDR in Elara is $368/night*, not using any codes. (That's not including tax, resort fee etc etc for all the hotel re-sellers out there..)  You could get 2 rooms in the Mandarin Oriental or Cosmopolitan for the same, or even 2x 1BDR suites in Elara for pretty much the same.

If you didn't want to spend that much, then its pretty much definitely going to be 2x regular rooms somewhere.

* advanced purchase, plus tax,  no mention of resort fee.  If you get on well with your sister(!) that's not a bad deal for a decent suite in a decent location.

Obv you get the master bedroom if you are paying...

Just had a look myself and the MGM Grand is 694/room for 10 nights from the 29th.

Never stayed or even been to the MGM.  Decent hotel? Location isn't as important as the summer as long as it's on strip and the area near the hotel is safe.

difficult to describe how big it is.  It's big.  Too big.

However, it's perfectly decent, lots of restaurant choices, bars etc and not that far from centre strip.

Not sure what tax/resort fee etc is in your price, but £800 could get you one of their new king rooms (rather than a very tired old room)

Or the Orleans tip ^^^ would save you a lot compared to this.

cheers for that.  MGM looks like the front runner so far.

if it was just me then I'd go for Orleans but with my sister with me want something pretty central so she can do what she wants easily.

will be booking in a couple of weeks so will keep looking around tho.

thanks Smiley

MGM is a fine place to stay - I generally stay in the West Wing rooms as the poker room is (or was when I was there last, think they've moved it now) by the West Wing lifts. Plenty of decent places to eat.

As Simon said, it is massive though (because it's all on one floor, as compared to somewhere like Venetian where the shops are on top of the casino floor)  - if you want to use the monorail to get about, be prepared for a lot of walking to/from the station.

They've just refurbed all the rooms at MGM too Ryan, so it will be nice and fresh for your arrival if that's the chosen resort....

I've just got back home about an hour ago and am fked after the drive. I should have a couple hours before I start work tomorrow afternoon though and will see what I can find for your dates Smiley
