How can 3 horses be that big of a price in a 12 horse race?

Would you bet yourself at 800/1 in a four runner 100m race versus Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell and Dwayne Chambers?

Joking apart Girgy if you can't grasp the concept of why this is a very bad bet then you are always going to be struggling at this game.  You aren't an 800/1 shot in a match bet against Usain Bolt.

Genuine Q.

Did the horse produce a time from nowhere, or did all the faves simply run very poorly, or a combo of both?

If I remember both short price horses fell. Also this winner is from a totally non gambling stable which is why not a penny for it, bar some old bird had a tenner each way with hills cos the jockey rode her horse a few months ago and she liked him.

She won £2400 on the race which was probably more than the race was worth to the owner of the winner!
