OPR shows villain to be rather fishy (37% stats, which are considerably boosted by one biggish win that makes up 75% of yearly wins). I've only had 37 hands with him but he seems a station. Stats 22/8 with aggression 1.5. Doesn't cbet, has tendency to call down to river - and then cbet. *Granted v sample size*

I have VERY tight image, mainly as I've had utter junk all tourney. The one hand I did have, I shoved trips on the flop and got hammered by 2 pr>>>boat. Rebuy period has just finished.

Preflop:

I get 2 (image) fishy callers and the BB comes along too. The antes have been play a while, but is 2.5 bb pre big enough? Or should I still be sizing slightly bigger taking into account people are still fairly aggro?

Post flop:

Fairly dry board (except maybe the low connectors), happy enough with my cbet...and he comes along pretty much expected.

Turn didn't really scare me. Get to the River and obv the Ace is a scare card.

Even without the Ace I believe he'll bet the river, so I'm in a predicament. Obv I bet it and hope for the best...

At what point do you slow down? Or was there absolutely no getting away from this? Was my turn bet too big (I was barrelling, happy for him to come along, but looking back now..it lacked balance and I was hugely pot committed)

Or just smile, chalk it down n put 50p in the pot?

having said that, for the general case, i think you can either bet such a dry flop smaller, to bet a deece amount on turn to set up a proper river shove, or you can bet turn smaller for the same reason and also give yourself room to puke on ikky rivers and can let your turn double barrells be cheaper and more balanced (not that balance is important in this one spot vs station, but generally). Also on the Ace river, I think a lot of his 'value range' is A9 or A2/A3 which is a bit sighful, but your turn bet size makes a river shove a no-brainer.

If this guy is a huge post-flop station, I guess shoving the turn is also fine

He's a station and it's a $5 tournament, which means you have no image, you don't even have a range, just some cards, which may or may not be better than the two he has, which is the only thing he's thinking about. Your image plays almost no role in how this hand goes down.

What about the preflop bet sizing at this stage?? I, mean, bearing in mind its a table loaded with calling stations??

think flop sizing is fine, but if it's cally then don't be afraid to move away from standard and fine. If you think you'll get called by worse if you 10x it, do it On the other hand, don't be afraid of playing multiway pots with people who don't like folding.

Your line is completely fine imo but sizing wise here bit smaller on the flop, then much smaller ott when you're heads up. Then you've got greater chips left behind enabling a much more natural river shove which doesn't look as strong.

On a different board that wasn't quite hard to hit like this one i'd consider going bigger on the flop and shoving turn instead. Could be an option here too since we're 4way.

Yeah, I bet flop bigger here 4 way so I can cram turn. Vs someone good I'm much more likely to bet smaller and look to set up 3 streets as its difficult for you to be light with a bigger sizing there and someone who is good is gonna play correctly against it

As to what was said earlier in thread, these players will be taking no notice of your image what so ever.
Preflop you could make it bigger, but your still likely to get multiple callers.
Just unlucky he hits a set.
