I went to Notts Gala last night and was confronted with the shock news that it was to be Robs / Nightfly / card room Supremo's last shift in the cardroom for 6 months!! He says he has an operation on Tuesday that will keep him out of action for all that time.

I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK Rob as i didnt get a chance to say goodbye last night!  I wanted to say THANKS for all the hard work you have put into that cardroom over the last god knows how long and you have, imo, improved it 100%. I just hope it stays like that in you abscence mate.

Please have a speedy recovery and stay in touch with us.  Maybe in your recouperation time you can spend it posting on here day and night  Grin

Take care Rob, hope it goes well, & get back to work as soon as you can. You will be missed greatly.

I think me and Rob should come a bit clean before everyone starts sending Nighfly flowers and fruit and starts worrying about him losing his job etc. Also, I dont want Gala Nottingham, where I have been a member for 15 years, to find out by the "rumour mill" and think that there is any funny business going on.

After his operation he will be coming to work for Dusk Till Dawn on a full time basis, hopefully in 2 weeks time, assisting me set up the club and recruit all of the staff. Myself and Rob have agreed that we would tell Gala and be totally open and honest, not using his "operation" as an excuse. Thats just pure coincidence.

Get well soon Rob (you have 1 week off max).

Cheers Rob

All the best Rob. The cardroom was always a better place with you in it. Looks like its not the last we've seen of you though!

Get well Rob, you will be sorely missed at Gala and the steps you have made to improve the place have been much appreciated. I think this is an excellent appointment for the new club and can only be applauded.

Good luck with the op and the new job.

Thankyou for all the kind words of support.

At the moment i am a little worried by this morning's operation... it is nothing too serious. I am having to stay up all night just to make sure that I am able to make it there for 7 am.

At the moment i feel a little lost for words(for those of you who have endured my pre-tournament speeches over the years, i know that this is a little hard to believe!)
I am sad to leave Gala, yet very excited about the challenges of Dusk till Dawn. I will almost certainly be posting on the forum alot more regularly than previously.

A Big thankyou to all who have supported me and given me inspiration during my time with Gala. I would also like to express my thanks to all the dealers and other cardroom staff that I have worked with( I know that most of you read this [Go on, take the plunge and sign up, You know you want to!]).

I have always sought to do what I do the best I can... this will certainly be the case with the new venture

I am sure that i can rely on Mrs Nightfly to keep you updated as to my progress.

Thankyou once again

Rob
